Kumar is a multifaceted operations professional who has twenty-four years of experience in spearheading profit center management, multiple unit manufacturing operations and quality assurance.
He is a mechanical engineer (B.E) with an MBA in operations. He has close to a quarter of a century’s experience in sectors ranging from automotive clutches to rigid plastics. He has gathered rich first-hand experience of manufacturing processes (P, Q, C, D, S, M, E) while working for industry leaders like Clutch Auto Limited, Rockman Industries Limited (a HERO group company) and Hitech Plast Ltd. He also got the rare privilege of working with and following the manufacturing and quality system developed by gurus like Prof. S Yamaguchi San, Prof. Takao San of Japan and chief mentor of ACMA ACT cluster, Mr C Narsimhan. He has completed exhaustive training in production management form AOTS, Japan and Quality Management training from AP, Italy.
He is conversant with world-class manufacturing techniques like lean manufacturing, TPM, TQM, TOC, TQC, JIT, Six Sigma and Total Lean Six Sigma. He also has deep implementation experience and expertise in ISO 9001, TS 16949, GMP, SEDEX Audit, BRC Ion, HACCP and EHC.
When not busy with engineering tools, Kumar loves to write poems. He has been doing so since his school days, and his poems bring out the emotions of a common man who lives and survives every day, one day at a time.
