We live in a very competitive and goal-oriented world. There is an abundance of readily available information. Coaches claim to know the secret to successful project management, and advertisements for workshops and webinars appear like nickels on a dime.
The reality of the situation, in spite of skilled and well-educated project managers religiously following the project management triangle - scope, time, and budget, with the objective of executing and delivering a high-quality final product, is sometimes not the case. Some of these projects do not see the day of light, or even if completed as planned, on completion steadily result in failure. The key is the careful balancing of these constraints keeping in mind the value that the stakeholder believes in.
The success of a project depends on project managers in understanding the dynamics that relates with the project and gunning for the right stakeholders, putting in the work to engage with them with a jaunt of ease, and do whatever is needed to be done keeping in mind the values of the stakeholder. Why all this fuss, well, depending on the project, stakeholders may be the primary decision makers who have the power to affect its completion; they may be unrelated stakeholders who could cause a stir if the project does not align with their values; or the most kind-hearted men may be impacted by your series of choices that lead to the Titanic's gradual sinking.

1.0 Dr. Hansa Lysander Manohar is an Emeritus Professor in Anna University, Chennai. She retired as a Professor of the Department of Management Studies and the Chairperson of the Faculty of Management Sciences, College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University, Chennai, India.
Dr. Hansa holds B.Tech., MBA, MCA, FDPM and Ph.D. degrees from Anna University, University of Madras and Indian Institute of Management – Ahmedabad. She has about 3 decades of Teaching and Research experience with a specialization in Human Resource, Operations, Technology & Sustainable Management.
Dr. Hansa has many International and National research publications. She has guided Doctoral and Fulbright Senior Research Scholars and has published textbooks. She has collaborated in various innovative and pioneering projects with ITCOT, KVIC, TNPCB, AICTE, UGC, TEQUIP, CII and Corporates.
2.0 Dr. Sunil Meshram is the Founder of PM Edge. He holds B.E, PGDBM and PhD degrees. Dr. Meshram has led multiple projects in IT, Telecom, Education and Government and has over 30 years of experience working in Indian & International geographies.
Dr. Meshram’s research area has been G2G E governance Projects in Tamil Nadu.
Dr. Sunil has worked with IT majors like Ericsson, NIIT and Mastek in various Project Management roles. He is a PMI certified PMP® and has been an International Faculty on Project Management with NIIT China also. He has taken corporate training workshops and projects for various Government and International clients like UNDP, Indian Oil, NLC India , TIDCO, Central Board of Irrigation and Power, Delhi to name a few.
