Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalThey came for adventure. They vanished without a sound.
When Rahul and Maya Kapoor set out on a two-day trek along the remote Devlok Path in Uttarakhand, they expected a quick escape into nature. Instead, they disappear without a trace. Their campsite is found abandoned, their phones dead, and a strange charcoal symbol marks the flap of their tent—one Maya had casually drawn the day before.
Arjun Rawat, a determined local with ties to the couple’s stay, refuses to believe it was an accident. The authorities blame the weather. Villagers whisper about cursed slopes, vanished pilgrims, and trails that were never meant to be walked. But Arjun senses something far more human—and far more dangerous—lurking beneath the superstition.
As he digs deeper, unsettling questions surface. Why are trekking permits being forged? Why do stolen belongings reappear in rival lodges? And who profits when tourists go missing in the mountains?
When another disappearance echoes the first, fear tightens its grip on Kedarghati. Legends resurface, silence thickens, and the truth hides in the shadows between myth and crime.
Set against the haunting beauty of the Himalayas, The Whispers of Devlok Path is a tense, atmospheric thriller about the secrets people protect, the stories they invent, and the ones that refuse to stay buried.
Some who walk the trail are lost. Others are taken. The mountain keeps its own.

I’m Vinayak G. S, 24 years old, and I work in the blockchain space—a world built on logic, problem-solving, and constant evolution. But away from the screens and smart contracts, I’ve always been drawn to stories filled with mystery, atmosphere, and silence that speaks louder than words.
The Whispers of Devlok Path is my debut novel, born out of my lifelong fascination with remote places and the unspoken things people believe about them. The Himalayas, with their legends and disappearing trails, always felt like the perfect setting—not just for a story, but for a secret.
Working in tech made me pay attention to patterns, clues, and motives, and writing helped me turn those into characters, suspense, and emotion. I didn’t just want to write a thriller—I wanted readers to feel like they’re walking the path, sensing the danger, and questioning every shadow.
This book wouldn’t exist without my people—my parents, my younger brother, my girlfriend, my friends, and the mentors who encouraged me when writing felt impossible. Their faith kept this story alive.
As a first-time author, this is just the beginning. I want to create more Indian thrillers that blend crime, folklore, and realism—stories rooted in the places we think we know, but don’t.
Thank you for picking up my debut book and stepping into this world with me. There are many more mysteries ahead.
