FLUTTERBY

A pupa cracks open and a healthy pair limbs can be seen. The pupa cracks open a little wider and a resplendent butterfly takes its first breath of fresh air; it is finally free.

The wings of the butterfly is silky blue with dark and bright shades. The edges have a black lining. It has two long beautiful antennae and a shiny bright pair of compound eyes.

The butterfly looks at the alluring world in front of its eyes for the first time, filled with enthusiasm and exhilaration. it takes its first step and jumps off the platform. the perturbed butterfly falling from a height pulls itself together and a pair of angelic wings finally spread open.

The butterfly which finds itself floating in the air is filled with elation to see the magnificent scenery of lush green grass and blinding colours of various flowers underneath the butterfly. It feels the warm welcome of the sun on its skin. It can see humongous trees and plenty of two legged species gazing at it.

It finally lands on a charming flower and notices a jelly-like liquid at the center. Out of wonder, it dips the tip of its tongue only to find out that it is the sweet nector fom heaven. Soon, it is in a trance of sweetness.

a while later, it hears a strange voice from nowhere. A voice which is familiar and yet, unfamiliar. Strange and yet, not so strange. The butterfly, unable to recognize the source soon finds the beautiful sight of lush green grass and colourful flowers slowly fading into grey.

Everything around it is loosing its shape and beauty. Everything is merging into one grey void and getting darker by the minute. soon enough, the world around the butterfly is dark and scary. The darkness soon starts to get to the already terrified butterfly. Unable to flutter its wings any more, takes a fall and a ten year old boy hits the floor with a thud.

the unfamiliar voice gets familiar by the second. Its his mother. She immediately carries him and places his head over her lap and says " oh my god, baby are alright?are you hurt? here, let me see... Oh baby, did you have a bad dream?"

the boy is BLIND and PARALYSED from SHOULDER to TOE. His eyes is filled with tears rolling down his dark skin and with a smile on his lips, he replies, " NO MAMA, IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL ONE!"
