A Senior's Anniversary Celebration

Normally Birthdays & Anniversaries are celebrated for kids in the first year , 2nd year and so on . Also few youngsters celebrate for their loved ones boy or girl , husband / wife , sisters, brothers, and depends on how much they love each other . It is only an indication of their love & affection and wants to show to their relatives & friends by celebrating Birthdays / Anniversaries .

Everybody has got their own way of doing things in this wonderful world ! This story is about a senior father & mother and a loving daughter , celebrating a Marriage Anniversary .

The senior called Prabhu is a retired engineer from a reputed multinational company in India and he worked hard for about 35 years to bring his family to a status of respectable upper middleclass family in our society . He is so sincere & firm in his approach that he used to spend very minimum for himself & his wife so that he could save enough resources to bring up his daughter Saranya with good education , good career and a happy married life . His wife also contributed very well to raise their daughter and give her a stable career & married life .

Prabhu used to have few friends who are very close to him and his family , who in turn , keep them in a very special status . All his friends family had kept his family with great honor & respect . In turn Prabhu and his wife has been very helpful to their relatives and friends with even small gestures . They will go to any extent to help so that everybody give back their love & affection to Prabhu's family .

Saranya , Prabhu's daughter , is well educated & working in a reputed company in England alongwith her family consists of her husband , a daughter ( 7 years )and a son (4years) . They live in north eastern part of Canada for the past 9 years and leading a good Life in the opportunitistic country for the whole world . She is very fond of her father as he could give her any reasonable things best available in his purview and never , never be hard on her . These two loving gestures of any father can bring his children particularly , daughters , close forever in their Life .

It happens so with Saranya and her father who are close in their minds and will do anything for each other . Saranya wants to do something special to her beloved father & exceptional mother which can never be forgotten by anybody who comes to know or aware of .

She decides to do something extraordinary to her parents which no other children in this world had done .

She wants to be an exceptional daughter who has done something phenomenal to her parents .

There comes an occasion ! Her parents 40th Marriage Anniversary !

But how to do it ? Her parents will not accept any celebrations as that is the way they have been living in their Life .. no celebrations for themselves ! whatever they had done for so many years is to go a temple on the wedding day and give some presents to known orphanage children and a simple dinner in a nearby hotel for themselves !

Saranya started thinking as she wants to organise & celebrate this 40th Marriage anniversary in a grand manner when she visits her parents in couple of months , in India . She knows , it is going to be a Himalayan task for her to arrange everything in India , being in USA , without informing her parents , not even a hint !!!

She wants to talk to her friends & relatives on her intentions ,who are willing to help for the arrangement of this function .and with one condition they should not inform her parents on this arrangement .

She started this exercise just one month away from the date of the function , when she is going to be with her parents . As she believed , Her friends & relatives agree to do all possible help for the function to be grand success . She felt as if she has achieved a great task already ! She contacted her friends explainig her ideas and allotted work to each one of them and few relative friends agreed to take care of her parents to bring them to the function on that day , as a Surprise !! with no clues whatsoever !!!

Saranya has arrived her parents in India and started contacting all Invitees ie., her friends, few local family friends, neighbours of her parents house , with a cautionary note saying that they should not give any clue or information to her parents , until they come to the Party Hall on the Day !

The Day has come !

Saranya is little tense as she is staying with her parents for so many days and not telling anything about their Marriage Anniversary function ! She also fears on how her parents will react once they enter the Party Hall and realise the whole thing is done without their knowledge & consent and nobody even gave a clue ,including their close family friend, who brought them to the function hall saying some other friend's daughter function . But she is convinced by her friends that everything she is doing only for her family sake .

The Party Hall is ready ! Everybody ,Saranya's friends, close relatives , are ready and eagerly waiting for the Chief Guests to arrive .

Saranya's father & mother have arrived the party Hall ! But the Hall is dark !! Prabhu & his wife cannot understand why the Function hall is dark ? No electric power in the Hall ?? Where is everybody else ?

By the time they could guess what is happening , All Lights are on , All guests inside the Hall greeted Prabhu & his wife with huge applause wishing them "" Happy Marriage Anniversary "" Many many Happy returns of the Day "" .

Prabhu & his wife cannot believe their eyes , seeing all their friends , relatives in front of them wishing them so happily alongwith their Daughter Saranya !!! Is it real ? How can this happen ? Prabhu 's face turned into big surprise and his wife started crying in pleasant shock !

Slowly everybody started coming to Prabhu & his wife , wishing them enthusiastically and giving sweets to them both !

Saranya has no bounds on her joy ! Suddenly she has gone to her parents and hugged them so passionately and wishing them very Best , affectionately !

Is this a Joy for her Life ? Can she have more than this ?

After some initial formalities to the New Senior couple by one and all who have come to witness this wonderful get together , Saranya started speaking on her Father & Mother and their struggle in their Long Life together and as it goes on , many gathered in presence , started feeling emotionally and tears have started in many people who know Prabhu & his wife & Saranya for a long time .

Everybody started feeling that they become one New couple and flash back their own married Life .

Prabhu & his wife with their lovely , affectionate Saranya , are talking in such a Happy mood forgetting about the surroundings with guests and have a great sigh of relief in belief that this moment will never come once again !
