Ram was living in a place called Mayapur in a small town in India. From his childhood, Ram had a nag of helping people, be it poor or wealthy. He wanted to be a doctor so that he could spend his life looking after people. Soon, he grew up & naturally his dreams to become a doctor & serve the world also grew wider & larger in his mind. He passed all his school examinations with flying colours and soon it was time for him to give his medical examinations. He studied day & night, not having the sense of what was happening in this world as he only concentrated towards achieving his dream of helping people only. Soon, after much preparation, Ram managed to get through the exams. When the results of the exams came out, he shouted with excitement, “I knew I could make it after all I am an Indian. Indians are always committed to serving people.” But little did he knew that soon God will take his exam. To his surprise, Ram got admission in one of the best Medical colleges of India as he ranked pretty well in the exams. As there were only a few weeks left for his term to start in his new college, Ram decided to relax his mind a bit & thus went out for a little walk. After walking for almost an hour Ram decided to return home but while returning home, he heard terrible screams. It sounded like thousands of people and children crying for help. Ram almost ran to the place where the screams were coming from. Turns out, it was a building on fire & he could see pretty well thousands of people fighting for their lives, some of them even were severely injured. The fire brigade had arrived but they couldn’t help as it was too late. Amongst the screaming crowds, Ram suddenly spotted a child of probably 3 trying to get past the fire to his mom. Ram was astonished, it seemed like his heart was calling out to him, “Ram aren’t you an INDIAN, can’t you save the lives of these innocent people, can’t you prove that you are a TRUE HUMAN as after all if a human cannot manage to save the life of another human, he shouldn’t be called a HUMAN, YOU USED TO SAY YOU WERE AN INDIAN, WELL AREN’T INDIANS COMMITTED to SERVING PEOPLE, SO IF YOU DON’T SAVE THE LIVES OF THESE PEOPLE OR TO BE PRECISE THESE INDIANS THEN YOU CAN’T EXPECT YOURSELF TO BECOME A TRUE INDIAN, GO AND HELP THEM RAM”. And hearing this Ram couldn’t help himself & thus jumped into the fire & landed pretty smoothly on the ground right in front of the kid of 3, Ram carried him on his shoulders & gave the child to her mother who was delighted to see his son. She thanked Ram. And, not only did Ram helped them but he managed to save about 700 people to find their way & get past the fire. But unfortunately, Ram himself got severely injured & fainted. The next day he found himself lying in the CITY HOSPITAL’S ICU but what made him happy was the sight of nearly hundreds of people gathering outside the hospital’s building with his pictures & posters written: “GET WELL SOON, RAM”. He realised everything. But he could hardly speak he felt as if his eyes were closing, his body was getting lighter & colder with each breath he took & gradually he began to realise that he would remain in this world for hardly a second more. But still, he felt happy, happy to have saved those innocent people’s lives, happy to have behaved like A TRUE HUMAN, even if he couldn’t succeed in achieving his dream still, he felt happy, happy to have, at least fulfilled his dream of serving people even if it COSTED HIS LIFE. AND UNFORTUNATELY, RAM PASSED AWAY! Though people mourned with grief at his sad demise, still people cried out “RAM, MAYAPUR’S HERO”. From that day onwards, parents started to give Ram’s example to their children, ARMIES started thinking of Ram when they realised, they had to sacrifice themselves to save the country & so on. And in this way, all the people across our country, our world saluted Ram.
So, you see my friends, it’s not being of a particular caste, colour, name, city, state, etc that matters. Well actually, it’s being a TRUE HUMAN that matters! Let us not let any of our weakness, disability or status become our limitation, let us all go beyond the borders for once to achieve our dreams, to help people.
