Dr.S.Varadharaj is currently working as HOD in commerce, Government Arts and Science College Perumbakkam, Chennai, TamilNadu, South India.
He has published a text book on Indirect Taxation in March 2019.This book was recommended as a suggested reading text book by various Universities and also by the Board of Studies (BOS) in the autonomous colleges and deemed universities in Tamilnadu.
A student friendly revised edition of the Text book on Indirect Taxation for UG & PG syllabus based on Indian universities has been published towards the end of the year 2019.
He has also published another text book on GOODS AND SERVICES TAX [GST] AND CUSTOMS LAW in October 2021, with MJP publishers, Chennai.
He is a highly qualified academician with twenty six years of rich expertise in teaching, lecturing and guiding research scholars with specialisation in Finance, Direct and Indirect Taxation and other subjects in Commerce and Management.
He is a Member of Board of studies (BOS) in universities and autonomous colleges in Chennai and Tamil Nadu and has over a dozen publications in diverse areas in commerce and taxation and also has attended various national and international seminars and presented papers. He has been a speaker at various conferences, seminars and workshops.
He has attended GST seminars, conferences and several dealers’ awareness programmes on GST at various point of time since July 2017.He has participated in a seminar conducted by FICCI, on “Session on One Year Journey of GST” on Jul 06, 2018.
He is a regular speaker and demonstrator of online filing of direct tax and GST return filings in live lecture series at various colleges all over Tamilnadu.He has been a guest speaker of several webinars conducted by various colleges /institutions during the Covid-19 period.

The introduction of GST has changed the landscape of fiscal federalism in India. It has charted out a new course for Union-State fiscal relations, signifying the spirit of cooperative federalism. The new tax is contributing to making India a flawless national market, elevating trade and industry. This ensures facilitating administration and improved compliance and collection of taxes on the supply of goods and services.
The book encapsulates the GST Acts focusing upon the broad areas like basic concepts, components, input tax credit, E-way bill and other aspects of GST. It resolves them in a simple, lucid and universal language to a section of readers including teachers and students of economics, commerce, law, public administration, business management and chartered accountancy. The textbook is incorporated with the latest amendments, several charts and illustrations have also been consolidated for easy learning and understanding of the subject.
