Harshit Poddar is the co-founder of SafEarth Clean Technologies. At SafEarth, Harshit and his team are trying to accelerate the world’s transition to clean energy by removing the bottlenecks faced by consumers in shifting to solar power. Harshit Poddar is the co-founder of SafEarth Clean Technologies. At SafEarth, Harshit and his team are trying to accelerate the world’s transition to clean energy by removing the bottlenecks faced by consumers in shifting to solar power. Harshit’s passion for renewable energy propelled him to start working in this space in 2014 while he was still a 19-year-old in college. Since then, there has been no looking back. As of March 2021, the SafEarth platform has helped over 50 industries install over 34MW of rooftop solar plants that save approximately 50,000 tonnes of carbon every year. The team at SafEarth has given themselves an audacious target of saving one billion tonnes of carbon every year by 2030.
Harshit and his wonderful team recently founded the SafEarth Foundation, a non-profit that aims to create awareness on climate change, plant trees, and build grassroots coping mechanisms that enable local communities to better deal with the impacts of climate change. Presently in its first year of operation, the foundation is currently working in rural Rajasthan to achieve these goals.
Harshit is an alumnus of the Lawrence School, Sanawar, and the RV College of Engineering, Bangalore.
 
Outside of work and writing, he is an avid reader and traveller.
