Dr. Paresh K Joshi has a Ph.D in Experimental Nuclear Physics, from Louisiana State University. He worked as a researcher for almost three decades in, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Department of Nuclear and Atomic Physics-Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) and later shifted his career to science education, at Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education-TIFR.
He was the President of IJSO from 2015-2022. He also served as the Chairman of Bombay Association for Science Education from 2008 to 2018. He continues to be a honorary member at both the institutions.
The author is presently full time involved in developing a better curriculum of experimental science in school education and conduct training sessions for teachers using these experiments.
He has also authored two books dealing with the concept of integration of sciences, which is the need of the hour, and the key feature of IJSO.
