Ajit Deora

Ajit Deora is the fifth of seven siblings born into the Deora family of Bagri, Rajasthan, India. He was not studious growing up but thanks to a strict father who disciplined him into studying, he graduated from IIT, Madras. He later got a scholarship to study in the US. His motivation to come to the US was to be in a position to help his family back home. With hard work and luck, he was successful enough to meet this desire. Ruminations is a collection of poems that were all written in 2021. Covid-19 was ravaging the world and most of us were stuck at home. The first poem, “Sweetheart”, was written on my wedding anniversary. Typically, I go to our backyard to make a rose bouquet for my wife. This year, there were no roses in the garden.
