Debasish Thakur was born in Islampur, a small town in North Dinajpur, West Bengal. He completed his post-graduation in Economics in North Bengal University.  He has been working in sales for the last two decades, and he had the opportunity to work in various places over the years.   He has seen discrimination and disparity against women in rural societies.
