Naphirisa Kordor Tariang has delved into the literary terrain more by accident than design. Having been sensitive to the social environment around her right from when she was young, has led her mind to probe deeper into things that beg description. She has always harboured an unwavering desire to rekindle the lost spark within every child, for she strongly believes that every child's heart throbs passionately for a dream. With an eye on a future that embraces the uniqueness of every individual, she has channeled her deep thoughts and visions into her writing. She had also written two books of poetry, The Vision Dancing in My Mind’s Eye, published at the age of eighteen, and The Engaging Allure of Meghalaya. Her debut novel entitled, The North Star, strikes a chord with many young people who are navigating through the maze of life driven by their unwavering desire to find themselves. Her deep love for her homeland and culture have always echoed through the pages of her books.
