Back in the day, far from the presence of internet, books were the only medium of knowledge and entertainment for us.
Tezu shares most of its geographical entity with mountains, rivers and dense forest. And the author’s childhood, which he spent walking at those forest trails, bathing in the chilling river water and watching the snow roofing the mountains turned him more towards nature. And this natural bonding built a silent reader in him. He has spent a lot of time in silent places, reading his English or Hindi textbooks which were basically filled with stories. And with the course of time he developed more and more interest in short stories.
His favourite writers are Guy de Maupassant, Anton Chekhov, O. Henry and Edgar Allan Poe. He also has an interest in the works of Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay and Bankim Chandra Chatterjee.
