Om Prakash Shah Gangola was born in 1944 on a cold winter day in Nainital, a famous Himalayan tourist place in Uttarakhand, India. Om Prakash Shah Gangola was born in 1944 on a cold winter day in Nainital, a famous Himalayan tourist place in Uttarakhand, India. His initial upbringing and basic education happened in the cultural town of Almora. He moved to Narayan Nagar, a picturesque village in Pithoragarh near the Nepal border for the secondary education. After completing all of his higher education from Nainital, he connected briefly with Allahabad university in the end. He worked as a translator at Pantnagar University from 1970 to 1972, taught at various government degree colleges from 1973 to 2000 and finally retired as AD in 2004 from Directorate of Higher Education. He likes visiting new places within and outside India. He has a special interest in spirituality. He has edited a handful of magazines.
