Though involved in performing state-of-the-art fracture and joint replacement surgeries, his spiritual quest didn’t allow him to overlook the fact that despite the magical advancements in the field of modern medicine, the overall health of the mankind is deteriorating fast. As medicine is advancing, so are the number of diseases and the diseased as if both are trying to outrun each other. Renal transplants, joint replacements and angioplasties etc. are being projected as solutions and have become the parameters of the health services, which in fact are not more than the management of disasters that have already occurred. The medical world seems happy in managing rather than preventing the disasters.
The search for the truth led the author to the ancient Ayurveda, not only a medical science, rather a complete science of life. To his great astonishment, he realized that the path to real health and the happiness is altogether different from what is being practiced today in the name of science.
This book is the result of many years of hard work with the sole aim of finding out what is in the best interest of mankind and the best way to achieve real Health and Happiness — Allopathy or Ayurveda?
He is married and blessed with a son who is studying medicine at AIIMS.

The ultimate goal of human life is to achieve health (happiness) at three levels — physical, mental and spiritual. To achieve this, we must pursue the four Purusharthas — Dharma, Artha, Kaam and Moksha. The ultimate goal of human life is to achieve health (happiness) at three levels — physical, mental and spiritual. To achieve this, we must pursue the four Purusharthas — Dharma, Artha, Kaam and Moksha. The world is now in pursuit of only two of those, Artha and Kaam — which mean earning money and fulfilment of desires. Indian philosophy teaches us that unless Dharma (performing duties within legal and moral framework) is the means to Artha and Kaam with an aim to attain Moksha (Bliss), there will not be real health and happiness at either the individual or global level.
Modern medicine considers the human being as a machine made up of bones and flesh comprising of many organs and systems. It knows very little about the mind and nothing about the soul. Dharma and Moksha are unknown entities. All branches of medical science will remain incomplete and imperfect unless it knows its subject — the human body — and its purpose with complete understanding.
Today, modern medicine is nothing more than a massive business venture by multi-national pharma and other health industries revolving around patents and profits. Ayurveda is a complete and eternal science of human life, for the real benefit of mankind, and having the aim to achieve not only physical and mental health, but also spiritual health, which ultimately leads to Moksha.
