Born in a family of farming folks and the son of a high school teacher, in the picturesque village of Karumady in the Alapuzha district of Kerala. Studied in Allahabad University. Lucky to be taught economics by Prof. J. K. Mehta. Innings in journalism began with the Free Press Journal, Mumbai, as a stock and commodity markets reporter.
