Hailing from the now troubled Kashmir, Vinod had an early taste of diverse cultures when as a child he accompanied his diplomat father to the world’s great cities – Cairo, New York, Tokyo. He consolidated his higher education at Delhi University’s St. Stephen’s College and post-graduation at the prestigious Indian Institute of Management at Ahmedabad.  Mr. Kaul’s extensive work experience in industry spans over forty years and includes eight years in Canada.  In India, he has worked in senior capacities with Tata Exports, Bata India, Benetton, Birla VXL and Raymond. He headed the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) as Executive Director in its formative years.  His tenure saw the FDCI bringing together Indian fashion designers and organizing them into an industry with international potential. An important vehicle for this was the bi-annual India Fashion Week. Mr. Kaul has been an advisor to a number of senior designers and continues to be active in the fashion industry. Mr. Kaul founded RVG Newsvision which has beeen involved in management consultancy and e-publishing of specialized journals in the areas of fashion, luxury, and retail.   Mr. Kaul currently teaches MBA students at Fostiima Business School (New Delhi) in marketing related areas including Retail Management, Business Ethics, CSR and Corporate Governance.  He is also a visiting faculty at the International College of Fashion. Mr Kaul is an avid marathon runner and participates in national races in the half marathon (21.1km), full marathon (42.2km) and ultra-marathon (over 50km) categories. He has written a literary fictional collection of short stories – ‘Confessions of an MBA and other stories’ which was published in 2014.  Vinod lives with his wife, Renu and their pet Lab, Mocha, in Gurgaon.
