Sunil Gandhi is a Chartered Accountant with over three decades of experience guiding entrepreneurs—especially from family businesses and startups through every stage of their journey. From capital raising and financial planning to succession and strategic exits, Sunil has earned a reputation as a trusted advisor in the complex world of entrepreneurship and family enterprise.
His hands-on entrepreneurial experience includes being part of the founding team at Taxsmile.com, one of India’s earliest online tax-filing platforms. This blend of advisory and startup insight gives Sunil a unique perspective on the real-world struggles founders face especially the emotional and strategic challenge of stepping away.
A lifelong learner, Sunil returned to academics twelve years after becoming a CA to pursue a management degree at Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS), deepening his understanding of strategy and consulting. Earlier, he completed a Diploma in Yogic Science and Therapies, which shaped his belief in harmonizing material success with inner peace—a philosophy that echoes through his work.
Sunil is also a prolific writer, having authored 11 books across both fiction and non-fiction. His titles on financial literacy for startups, SMEs, and women have simplified complex financial ideas for a wide audience. His storytelling prowess caught the attention of Bollywood—one of his stories inspired the National Award-winning film Uunchai, directed by Sooraj Barjatya and starring Amitabh Bachchan. For his contribution, he was nominated for Best Writer at the Filmfare Awards.
With his 12th book, Breaking Free, Sunil brings together his financial expertise, entrepreneurial insight, and narrative skill to address a deeply personal and practical topic: succession, inheritance, and life beyond business. This timely guide helps family business owners secure not just their wealth—but their freedom.
