“Child Labour: From Peru to Philippines” is a comprehensive study of the issue of child labour. It covers the ground realities, across 23 countries of the world. The case of India is covered in detail by taking the example of state of Uttar Pradesh. The case study of every nation begins with a historical anecdote; proceeds with a numerous examples and ends with a “philosophical underline”. Subsequently, the types, causes and consequences of child labour are analyzed in detail (also enriched with the views of social scientists). Then global “best practices/projects” are discussed, at both macro level and local level. Finally there is a comprehensive list of suggestions to tackle this menace of child labour.

Jashandeep Singh Kang had secured Rank 12 in Punjab Civil Service exam 2020 (India). He has a special interest in the field of Labour welfare and his project S.E.E.D. had won the best project award in the North Indian Rotary district (R.I.D. 3080) in 2015. Regarding his career, he had cleared the I.I.T. exam in the year 2011. He did his graduation in Mechanical Engineering from PEC University of Technology. He has a strong passion for social service and was closely associated with Rotary club, N.S.S. and Mother Teresa’s Missionary of Charity. He has also done his Masters in History. And regarding the literary aspect, he is a poet and also an avid writer. Trekking and teaching, belong to some of his other passions.
