Dr. S. Velmurugan is a dynamic academician and researcher in the field of Computer Science, with a career spanning both industry and academia. An alumnus of Annamalai University, he holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science with a specialization in forensic image analysis. His doctoral research introduced a novel computer vision-based forgery detection system, pushing the boundaries of digital image processing in the realm of forensic science. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science with Data Analytics at Kongunadu Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, Dr. Velmurugan combines his industry expertise—gained during his tenure as a Storage Administrator at Right Tech Solutions Ltd., Chennai—with his passion for teaching and research. He has contributed to several prestigious research initiatives, including his role as a Project Fellow under the Government of India’s DST-PURSE (Phase II) program, where he advanced innovative approaches to computational challenges. His scholarly work includes 15 research articles published in leading international journals such as Elsevier and IEEE, as well as presentations at numerous national and international conferences. As a respected reviewer and editorial board member, Dr. Velmurugan is affiliated with prominent platforms like the American Journal of Artificial Intelligence (USA), the International Journal of Computing and Digital Systems (University of Bahrain), and The Nucleus (UGC Care Listed Journal, 2024). His expertise has also been sought by international forums, including the African Federation of Operational Research Societies (AFROS) and the International Conference on Decision Aid Sciences and Applications (DASA). Dr. Velmurugan has authored one book and continues to make significant contributions to the fields of image processing, computer vision, and pattern recognition.
