This book will be very useful to the readers pursuing graduation and preparing for competitions. Igneous petrology contents include concepts of origin and evolution of magma; and also the crystallization, structure, texture, and classification of igneous rocks. Similarly, a brief account of sedimentary and metamorphic petrology is also given to cover all three types of rocks. Description of the common rock types is given in all three sections.

My teaching profession on this subject prompted me to write this book to help students learn about rocks. Before this, two books, one on Structural Geology and another on Environmental Studies in Hindi have already been published. Later two more books, one on Crystallography Mineralogy and Geochemistry, and another on Igneous Petrology for Beginners in English were also published. 'Igneous Petrology for beginners' is now revised and upgraded to its present form, "Elementary Petrology".
