Dr. S. Velmurugan is a dedicated academician and researcher, currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science with Data Analytics at Kongunadu Arts and Science College (Autonomous), affiliated to Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Annamalai University, where he specialized in Forensic Image Analysis. His doctoral research introduced a computer vision-based approach to detect and localize copy-move forgeries in digital photographs. With a M.Sc. in Information Technology from Annamalai University (2011), Dr. Velmurugan brings both academic and industry experience, having previously worked as a Senior Data Storage Administrator at RiteTech Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Chennai. His research interests span Image Processing, Machine Learning, and Pattern Recognition, with a current focus on photographic forgery detection. He has published 26 international journal articles, including papers in Elsevier and IEEE journals, and presented 15 papers at various national and international conferences. He has authored three academic books and contributed as a Project Fellow under the DST-PURSE (Phase II) program of the Government of India. Dr. Velmurugan is a Member of the IEEE Computer Society and serves as a Reviewer for reputed journals such as Computer Vision and Image Understanding (Elsevier), Ad Hoc Networks (Elsevier), Expert Systems with Applications (Elsevier), American Journal of Artificial Intelligence, and Editorial Board Member of The Nucleus (UGC CARE). He also collaborates with global research platforms, including AFROS and DASA. With a blend of teaching passion and research excellence, Dr. Velmurugan continues to contribute to cutting-edge developments in computer science, while nurturing the next generation of technology professionals.
