"It was a wonderful experience interacting with you and appreciate the way you have planned and executed the whole publication process within the agreed timelines.”
Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalThis book is a compilation of chronicles of people from different senior living communities. I hope to capture the spirit, memories and teachings that shaped their lives and provide our generation a gold mine to learn from. The many interviews I conducted for this book would not have been possible if it weren’t for the many people who supported me through this journey. Mr. Nanda says “The success of a home is dependent on how much happiness and engagement you can get for people living in your home” and I think the different senior living communities I chanced upon definitely encapsulate this feeling.
The book has a related portal called ‘www.voicesofourelderly.org’ where anyone wanting to share their own story or of any of their elderly can upload it on the website thus making this an ongoing and ever growing project.

Diya Karwa
Diya Karwa is a 17 year old student at the Bombay International School, Mumbai. She is interested in pursuing Medicine/ Biochemistry at University. In her free time she enjoys playing the violin and diving. This book started as an initiative to visit the elderly in Old age homes across India to understand geriatic care and took the shape of chronicles of their stories which she found moving and inspiring. The interaction had to be over the phone mostly as the whole world was under a lockdown for several months due to the covid pandemic. The interviews led to many enriching talks and that's where the idea of writing their voices and immortalizing their stories was born. This book is the product of several months of interviews in four different languages, but Diya thoroughly enjoyed each step of this experience.
