Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalThe Indian IT industry has long been celebrated as a beacon of economic growth and global innovation. But behind the glossy exterior lies a reality filled with challenges for millions of IT professionals — challenges that rarely make the headlines.
This comprehensive, eye-opening book pulls back the curtain on the untold stories of India's IT workforce. Drawing on real-life case studies, historical context, and detailed legal analysis, it tackles the most pressing issues facing IT employees today:
Mass layoffs and job insecurity — How automation, global competition, and aggressive cost-cutting are displacing thousands of workers, and what legal recourse exists
Exploitative work conditions — The truth about extended hours, bell-curve performance systems, forced resignations, and the health toll of India's IT culture
Contract labour and gig workers — The rise of precarious employment, the legal framework meant to protect these workers, and why enforcement so often falls short
Trade unions in the IT sector — How and why IT employees are organizing, with real examples from KITU, FITE, and other emerging unions
Your legal rights, clearly explained — Plain-language summaries of India's four Labour Codes (2019–2020), the Industrial Disputes Act, the Sexual Harassment Act, and more
Practical remedies — Step-by-step guidance on filing complaints, approaching labour commissioners, contesting unfair dismissal, and forming a union
