Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalMAHATMA GANDHI is a biographical book based on a period from the life of Mahatma Gandhi, the leader of nonviolent non-cooperative Indian independence movement against the British Raj during the 20th century. The Book covers Gandhi's life from a defining moment in 1893, as he is thrown off from a South African train for being in a whites-only compartment, and concludes with his assassination and funeral in 1948. Although a practising Hindu, Gandhi's embracing of other faiths, particularly Christianity and Islam, is also mentioned. This book moves from the birth of Gandhi's method of nonviolent resistance in South Africa to an in-depth analysis of two of his signal triumphs: The Civil Disobedience Movement of 1930 and his historic Calcutta Fast of 1947. By focusing on these critical years, Shekhar makes it clear that political leadership and a lifelong career in national politics gave Gandhi an opportunity to develop and refine his ideas and to test and perfect his ideals. The book concludes with his assassination.

Shashank Shekhar has been fond of literature, history, poetry and prose for a very long time. Being a coffee lover, you won’t be surprised to find him in a coffee shop sipping his cuppa with a journal on the table. He finds his interests in networking and socializing. He enjoys taking long walks through any garden that comes his way. His taste in music scales towards the unmatchable power in Kirtan, in instrumentals and to the likes of Classical and Folk music. He is a multi-face tperson and has keen interest in film-making, directing and screenwriting. .
