Mr Gabriel Karthik K
Gabriel Karthick K is an Assistant Professor of English (Self-financed Stream) at Madras Christian College, where he is actively engaged in teaching, research, and academic mentorship. With a strong interdisciplinary orientation and a commitment to socially relevant scholarship, he contributes meaningfully to contemporary literary and cultural studies. He previously served as Assistant Professor of English at Voorhees College, where he gained valuable experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, curriculum engagement, and student research guidance. His academic journey began at Voorhees College, Vellore, where he completed his B.A., M.A., and M.Phil. in English. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in English with a specialization in Refugee Literature at Sacred Heart College (Autonomous). His research reflects a deep engagement with displacement studies, identity, trauma narratives, and human rights discourse. Expanding his academic horizons beyond literature, he also holds an M.A. in Political Science and has earned several postgraduate diplomas and certificates from Indira Gandhi National Open University. This interdisciplinary foundation enriches his research perspective, enabling him to engage with themes at the intersection of literature, politics, justice, and global studies. He has presented and published several research papers on diverse themes at national and international forums, demonstrating his sustained commitment to scholarly inquiry. His academic interests include Refugee Literature, Postcolonial Studies, Cultural Studies, Political Thought, and Sustainable Development discourse. Through his teaching and research, he seeks to cultivate critical thinking, ethical awareness, and socially responsible engagement among students.
