Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalThe book “Socio-Economic, and Wild Edible Vegetables-Fruits Resources in the Hill Districts of Manipur” explores the potential and implications of non-farm forest products, which are abundantly and richly grown in the forests, providing basic sustainability without depleting their resources. The tribal communities living in the hilly areas of Manipur have undoubtedly relied on these wild edible plants and vegetables in various ways for a long time. The emphasis is on how these untamed natural resources and forest products served as a primary livelihood for tribal communities historically and how they significantly contributed to supporting their families across different areas of their lives. It examines the occupational framework of the sampled villages, allowing us to grasp the actual dynamics of the occupations linked to the highlanders for their survival.
