SAHIDUL ISLAM CHOUDHURY

Sahidul Islam Choudhury is not just a teacher—he’s a guide, a mentor, and a committed social worker who has touched many lives through his tireless work in education and community service. A proud resident of Hailakandi, Assam, Sahidul began his journey in his hometown, completing his schooling there before pursuing his Higher Secondary education in the Arts stream from N.C. College, Badarpur.

Driven by a passion for learning, he went on to study at the prestigious Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), where he earned his B.A. Honours degree in English. He also explored subjects like Modern Indian History and Linguistics, which deepened his understanding of language and society. In 2019, he completed his M.A. in English from AMU, passing with first-class marks. His academic interests include Post-Colonial Literature, Shakespearean Drama, African-American Theatre, and Translation Studies. That same year, he qualified the UGC NET exam for Assistant Professorship in English—marking a major milestone in his academic journey.

In 2021, he also cleared the Assam Higher Secondary TET (PGT) exam. Today, he serves as a Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) in English at Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School in Silchar, where he inspires students with his deep knowledge and empathetic teaching style.

But Sahidul’s contributions go far beyond the classroom. He is the editor of the SUCCESS GUIDEBOOK series—study materials designed specifically for English Literature students of Assam University under the Four-Year UG programme. These guidebooks have become valuable learning tools for many students.

He also helps students prepare for important entrance exams like CUET UG/PG and provides guidance to those aiming for admission to top institutions like AMU and Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI). His mentorship has helped many students from rural and economically weaker backgrounds achieve their academic goals.

Outside academics, Sahidul is deeply committed to social work. He is the founder of the Udaan Education and Research Foundation, an NGO that works to uplift underprivileged students. Through initiatives like Udaan Super 40 Coaching, Project Ummed, Project Rahat, and the Sir Syed Rural Library, he is bringing quality education to those who need it most. Campaigns like Books for All and Empowerment for All reflect his belief that knowledge should never be a privilege, but a right.
