Amelie Khare was less than 10 years old when she narrated this story to me in her nonchalant way, as if the imagery were everyday communication. The subtle yet determined words fell on my awestruck mind as I listened with bated breath. The story rolled off her tongue, as if from one of the many well-worn books she reads to her little sister. It was there in her head waiting to be told, and I was the willing listener. This episode of The Adventures on Doryu is straight from the mind and heart of a brilliant young storyteller.
Amelie lives in the city of Mumbai and is the official storyteller to the family and all her friends. When her friends are visiting, they are normally in her room huddled together listening to one of her new stories, which by the way always seems to be on the tip of her tongue. She can start from anywhere and end up revolving around the adventures of her favourite creatures, which include cats, dinosaurs, Smilodons, dragons and much more.
