I moved to Mumbai where I met and married a city girl Smita (Gujarati). I followed in the footsteps of my six siblings, who are scattered across the globe, each have married folk from different Indian communities, religions, languages and occupations. The second and third generation, siblings and cousins have taken the mix to another level by marrying folk from Greece, US, UK, Thailand, Kenya, Australia, Ireland, and other countries. we are all still very connected despite the distance, even meeting up on occasions.
I spent several years travelling across the world, writing stories on the culture, language and habits of people of different races and creeds. From the Forests of Borneo to the deserts of the Sinai, North Africa high lands of Lalibela, Axum, Gondor, etc. From the Seas of Mediterranean to the heights of Nepalese Himalayas. From learning to ride an elephant in Chitwan to tiger counting in Bandhavgarh.
I am now the fortunate grandfather of two beautiful granddaughters. Their incessant need to hear accounts of my adventures and encounters gave birth to the magical, imaginary, planet of Doryu ; a place where I could play out all their fantastic dreams. A place where every child loves to live, learn and grow… their imagination. From simple, ordinary, Zoom sessions during the pandemic lock down, The Adventures on Doryu became an online storytelling Video on Demand event served up on the Insider platform. The show has visual effects, footage and great sound effects. Now, the show is not just for my grandchildren but their friends and their friends’ friends, and many more kids from across India, US and Indonesia have become addicted to The Adventures on Doryu. Several episodes later, it is growing by the episode.
I teamed up with Art Director, Saurabh Shrivastava, to start the series in picture book form as well, it is a natural progression but more a demand by the children as a means to acquire a hard copy account of every episode. Every episode will have its own book title, 9 online Video episodes have been completed so far. The very first episode is out as a illustrated story book and is available on, Amazon, Flipkart and Notion Press online stores. It will in a short while find its way to all brick-and-mortar stores everywhere.
All this transpired during the pandemic. The last one and a half year of the pandemic has certainly been an adventurous journey of a lifetime, for many. For some, heartache and others, spectacular discovery. My journey led me into the mind of a child, and oh! what a beautiful discovery it has been.

This is a very unusual story that has grown out of a game played by the Boyd brothers at home in their beautiful patch of Earth called Oakville Ontario in Canada.
Perhaps among the challenging of all prophetic books of the bible is the last book, Revelation. It is a maze of visions and symbolism that at once confuses and terrifies. Most Christians hesitate to read the book of Revelations, let alone study it. Unraveling God’s plans for the end of the earth, the sequence of events are mysterious to most readers, but splashed across its text one can see images and prophecies that are sprinkled across the entire bible

It requires greater skill of then young writers, to be able to create an original story around a fixed framework. The young writers must add their own spin on the plot as well as introduce new characters and situations.
It is a first of a kind format that invites children to become creative writers. Currently there are several such stories written by children in the pipe line and Diya’s is the first one to be released.
Her story has all the bells and whistles of a classic fantasy illustrated book. There are dragons and shapeshifters, druids and flying mermaids. A raging battle of the sci-fi kind, fire breathing enemies and loyal friends. What more can a wide-eyed dreamer want ? A good story!

There’s an old saying, children do not come with manuals, so parents often struggle with raising a mentally strong kid.
