They immensely contributed to Bhakthi literature and Saiva Religion. They conducted debates with Buddhists and Jains and defeated them. In this manner, they brought back Buddhists and Jains back to the Saiva Religion.
Dr. C. Kannan
Chenthiperumal Kannan, aged sixty-seven, was born in Nagercoil and educated in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Being a creative person, he has published hundreds of letters in the Hindu, the New Indian Express and also a few articles on socio-economic issues. He started his career in the year 1973 in a government rural dispensary in Tirunelveli District, and after seeing eight to nine children in many households, he published a book on family planning and got it released by the then Honourable Health Minister Anbazhagan. He has published ten articles in scientific journals on medical subjects. His research paper on how much the rural families in Tamil Nadu spent for medical care per month won the first prize in the International Conference on Family Medicine in November 2007. He has published a book in 1992 about the necessity of casteless society and one more book in 2013 on the need for a scientific mindset in the entire world.
