The author is M. Sc. [Hons. School], Ph D in physical chemistry and has taught physical chemistry to undergraduate and postgraduate students at Panjab University, Chandigarh for more than 35 years. She has 63 research publications to her credit. She has received Prof. M. L. Khorana Memorial Award for the year 2001 and 2006 by the Indian Pharmaceutical Association. She has also acted as resource person in a number of refresher courses for college teachers. The author is also writing a blog, nphyschem.blogspot.com.
She specializes in the basics of physical chemistry and has been actively involved in the intricacies of teaching physical chemistry laboratory techniques. Her recent book, Physical chemistry Experiments: Basic Concepts has been widely appreciated by the students and faculty.
