The main source of inspiration to bring out this book has been our interaction with students. It gives us immense pleasure to present to pharmacy students our book entitled “Pharmacognosy & Phytochemistry – I”. Writing a book is inspiring, often exciting, and sometimes very challenging work. Pharmacognosy & Phytochemistry is being transformed with astonishing rapidity and current efflorescence in the knowledge in this subject has necessitated that it should be learned separately from Pharmacognosy. A sound and comprehensive learning of biochemistry will help a pharmacy student understand plant analysis and evaluation more clearly. This book mainly guides students to get knowledge about the basics of pharmacognosy practical. All the contents are discussed in detail and suitable procedures are given whenever required. This book is highly useful for understanding the basics involved in various herbal evaluation methods in the simplest way. Mr. Tushar P. Dukre has been completed his post-graduation in pharmacognosy specialization from Pravara Rural College of Pharmacy, Pravaranagar, Loni (MH). He has worked as an Assistant Professor at Pravara Rural College of Pharmacy, Pravaranagar, Loni (MH). He is currently working as an Assistant Professor at Shri Swami Samarth Institute of Pharmacy (B. Pharmacy), Malwadi, Bota, Dist – Ahmednagar (MH). He has a total of 04 years of academic experience. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. from Bhagwant University, Ajmer, Rajasthan. He is also having good research experience with PG students; also she has been guided by more than 10 M.
