The salient and unique features of this textbook can be listed as follows:
• Very simple and lucid language has been used throughout the book to facilitate the understanding of the students as well as the teachers.

• A list of all the important years and dates is provided in chronological order at the end of each chapter. Hence, students will find it easy to memorize the important years or dates required for the examination.
• Around eight to ten sample objective questions and answers as per the requirements of the latest ISC Question Paper pattern have been included in each chapter. Such model answers are very rarely found in any of the present books. Students will find it easy for their revision work of the objective 1 mark questions (according to the ISC History Question pattern).
• A variety of all possible questions has been given at the end of each chapter, keeping in mind the requirements of the ISC Syllabus.
• All the questions which had come in the ISC Class XI 2020 Examination have been incorporated as well.
• Several flowcharts, tables including important differences and comparisons have been provided in Indian as well as World History. A student will find it easy to memorize things when presented in this manner and such things have not been presented in any of the present books available for ISC. Flowcharts given in topics such as the split of the Brahmo Samaj, the First World War, the rise of Stalin, Hitler and Mussolini.
Chandrima Basu Majumdar and Adwaita Basu
Chandrima Basu Majumdar has completed her M.A. and M. Phil. (Ist Class) from the University of Calcutta, and second M.A. from the Rabindra Bharati University. She has qualified competitive examinations in academic level. She has been teaching History to various senior secondary school students for several years, and is also noted for her passion and interest in the subject.
Adwaita Basu is pursuing graduation from the University of Calcutta. He is an avid learner of the subject and has read several books and documents on history. He has particularly garnered interest in the fields of international relations, contemporary politics and modern world history.
