Mr. ISHWAR SINGH MEHLA, a graduate with Hons in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Regional Engineering College Kurukshetra (Haryana), an IB(E)S officer of 1977 UPSC batch, Fellow IETE, Fellow BIS (I), Charted Engineer (IETE), Fellow (IE), served various Govt. departments for 37 years. He started his career as a lecturer and established a department for awarding diploma in E&C stream in Govt. Polytechnic Nilokheri (Haryana). He served All India Radio for 29 years, in different positions, dealing with every aspect of MW Radio Broadcasting from conceptual planning to system design, execution, and management with O&M responsibilities. As resource person trained technical manpower and won many Akashwani Awards for technical papers, Best system design and for execution of challenging projects. He, as Director (O&M) of BECIL, a mini Ratna Central Govt. PSU at board level, provided consultancy and turnkey solutions in almost all aspects of broadcasting and established Common Transmission Infrastructure for Pvt. FM broadcasting. He has participated in number of international and national symposium, workshops and conferences and presented papers on topics like, “Common Transmission Infrastructure – An Indian Perspective”, “Indian Scenario for DRM+ Showcase”, “RF Radiation Hazards – Safety Limits”, and “MF Broadcast Band Antenna”, including a DRM-ABU-AIR showcase in May 2007 at New Delhi on Digital Radio Transmission.
