The book introduces various classes of pesticides, their synthesis, applications, analysis, formulation, and possible hazards of their uses.
This book focuses to explain or describe and critically examine different types of pesticides, their activity/toxicity and their applications and the need for the search of an alternative based on natural products. Chapters of analysis, formulation, Toxicological and environmental impact of pesticides have been added to enhance the knowledge and fulfill requirement of outcome-based education. Solved numerical, questions with model answers, MCQs, fill in the blank, and conceptual questions are added to enhance the learning process. This will help students to understand technical terms.
Raman Singh, Kuldeep Singh
Dr. Kuldeep Singh has pursued MSc from IIT Roorkee, Ph.D. from IIT Bombay, and Postdoctoral Research from the University of Strasbourg, France. He has published 30 articles in Scopus/ SCI journals, six book chapters, five books and one patent. He has delivered more than 30 invited talks in national and international conferences/workshops/symposiums and seminars. Dr. Kuldeep Singh is a member of National and International Professional Societies, including the Royal Society of Chemistry, Chemical Research Society of India, and the Indian Science Congress Association. He has been nominated and a member of the Council of Asian Science Editors, South Korea. He is the reviewer of several Journals and Academic editor of Advances in Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Heteroatom Chemistry.
Dr. (Mrs.) Raman Singh is currently working as Vice-President (International) GWIS USA, and Senior Scientist (WTL-C&RE India). She has pursued M.Sc., MPhil, Ph.D. from Jiwaji University in organic chemistry with medicinal chemistry under the supervision of Prof. A. K. Halve. She has also pursued Master in intellectual property Law (MIPL) from IGNOU (New Delhi). She is the Best Young Scientist Award recipient in the Third Madhya Pradesh Science Congress- 2006 and the Best Young Scientist Award in the 22nd M.P. Young Scientist Congress-2007. Dr. (Mrs.) Raman Singh had work experience in MM(DU) NAAC ‘A’ Grade University, and Degree Colleges for 9 Years in Teaching and Research. She had taught a number of courses in Medicinal Chemistry, Fuel & Pesticide Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry to UG (Honours & Pass course), PG (Chemistry) and BSc (agriculture) students. She also had work experience with Routine samples and data analysis in National Dope Testing Laboratory (WADA Accredited Lab), New Delhi. She has conducted various workshops, international seminars, Awareness Programmes (such as COVID-19, International Year of Periodic Table etc.). She acquired training in organic synthesis, antimicrobial assay, IPR, Dope testing, and online Teaching Tools. Also interested in waste management project.
Dr. (Mrs.) Raman Singh is a member of National and International Professional Societies, including the Graduate Women in Science (GWIS, USA), Indian Science Congress Association, Association of Chemistry Teachers, Indo Universal Collaboration for Engineering Education, and Indian Society of Analytical Scientists.
