P.K. Das is a grass root process and power plant Engineer. He acquired Engineering Qualification from The Institution of Engineers (I), Kolkata both in Chemical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering in the year 1981 and 1988 respectively. He also possesses Boiler Operation Engineering (BOE) proficiency certificate from the Directorate of Boilers, Kolkata. He completed a Graduate Diploma in Materials Management in the year 1989. Subsequently, he became a Fellow from The Institution of Engineers (I) in the year 2003.
He acquired vast experience and profound knowledge in Chemical Process Plant and Power Plants for over 17 years in Government sectors and 23 years in private sector. During such long career, he has gained experience in Project Execution, Commissioning, and Operation and Maintenance of Process Plants and Power plants.
He was associated with the renowned companies like Hindustan Fertilizer Corporation of India Ltd, Indian Charge Chrome Ltd, Dishergarh Power Plant, General Electric, DLF Industries Ltd and Thermax limited. He commissioned over twenty Power Plants in captive Range from 4MW to 150MW comprising of all types of boilers having fuel of all kinds. Mentioned worthy achievement is that he was involved in commissioning and O and M of the biggest solar thermal Plant in India of 100MW at Pokhran, Rajasthan. Presently, he is the Head of O and M in Ayoki Fabricon Pvt. Ltd.
Dr. A.K. Das is at Present Registrar at MCKV Institute of Engineering, Liluah, Howrah, West Bengal and Ex-Professor and Dean (Academic and planning), Durgapur Institute of Advanced Technology and Management, Durgapur, an Institute affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (Formerly WBUT),West Bengal (over 9 years). Before joining as faculty, he was associated in various Multinational and Government Organizations like Hindustan Unilever Ltd., Dunlop India Ltd., Pulver Ash Projects Ltd. and DC Industrial Plant Services Pvt. Ltd in different managerial positions for more than 24 years.
Dr. Das passed both of his B. Tech (1984), M. Tech (1987) degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calcutta and obtained a PhD degree (2006) from the same university. He is a consultant of fly ash utilization and management. He has published many papers in International and National journals. He is also the research guide for PhD students in National Institute of Technology, Durgapur, West Bengal.
