Selim Reza
Dr. Selim Reza has eighteen years of rich experience in the bamboo sector. He earned his Masters in Social Work (MSW) from the Aligarh Muslim University, India, and a Doctorate in Sociology (Ph.D.) from the Institute of Social Sciences, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Agra. He started a career in bamboo development with the Tripura Bamboo and Cane Development Centre (TRIBAC), a community-based organization in 2003. He successfully managed the bamboo cluster development programme funded by Khadi and Village Industries Commission(KVIC) Government of India, and bamboo incense sticks value chains development in India funded by the Overseas Development Institute, International Development Research Centre, and International Bamboo and Rattan Organisation (INBAR). He also implemented the IFAD-EU South-South Phase-II Bamboo Development Programme of the International Bamboo and Rattan Organisation (INBAR) in Tanzania, Madagascar and Ethiopia. He is the recipient of the National Award from the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Government of India. He also won the IDRC-Scholl Research Fellowship and has contributed chapters in 8 books, 30 research papers, and articles in reputed scientific journals and popular magazines.
