The present book also covers the fundamentals of epidemiology, statistical methods and details related to the Indian National Programmes and Policies on health matters. The first volume of the book deals with general concepts of health and diseases, effects of environment on health, general concepts of epidemiology and disease-specific epidemiology of communicable and non-communicable diseases. The second volume mainly covers other aspects related to health, such as nutrition and health, healthcare of the vulnerable group, healthcare delivery system of India and basic statistical methods used in the field of medicine.
The book would also be helpful to the dental, nursing and paramedical students to properly understand the subject of Community Medicine and its application.
Anil Dixit, Yatharth Dixit, Anil Mishra
Dr. Anil Dixit, the principal author is a qualified Community Medicine expert, a Group Captain retired from the Indian Air Force with a vast experience in the field of Preventive and Social Medicine. He has been teaching the subject to undergraduate and post-graduate students in various medical colleges of India. He has also served as the Dean and academic head in few of these medical colleges. While serving in Indian Air Force (IAF), he provided his services to many IAF organizations in the capacity of health advisor. He has guided many research scholars in conducting their research works and is also awarded a fellowship by the Indian Association of Public Health (IAPH). He is presently working as Dean in the People's College of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Bhopal
Dr. Yatharth Dixit, MD in General Medicine, is currently working in Army Medical Corps as a Graded Specialist. He has done his graduation and post-graduation from Armed Forces Medical College, Pune and has an extensive experience in treating the patients of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
Dr. Anil Mishra, MD in Community Medicine is a qualified Public Health specialist. He has worked as Major in Army Medical Corps and in various national and international organizations for a period of more than twenty years. Currently he is working as a faculty member in Community Medicine department in a medical college. He has also authored a book titled Basics of Epidemiology-Concepts Made Simple, published by the Notion Press, India.
