A large number of classic literatures already exist on related topics. They are voluminous and deeply researched classical works but sometimes an inquisitive reader, at the outset, avoids delving deeper into the study of elaborate texts. This idea led me to collect things concisely on the current title, Basics of the Crystallography, Mineralogy and Geochemistry. All for beginners to introduce them to diverse topics related to this book. The topics included in this book are Unit Cell and Symmetry in Crystals under the section ‘Crystallography’; in the ‘Mineralogy’ section the topics are- Chemical Bonding, Classification of Minerals, Identification of minerals, Properties of Major Rock-Forming Minerals; and under the section ‘Geochemistry’ the topics included are- The Earth in the Solar System, Trace Elements and REE, Geochronology and Age of the Earth, Geochemical Cycle and Geochemical Prospecting.

B. S. Rathore is presently holding the post of Professor of Geology, in Collegiate Education, Department of Higher Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh. He has earned his Graduate, Postgraduate, MPhil and PhD degrees from Vikram University. He has over 34 years of experience of teaching in diverse branches of Geology including Mineralogy, Petrology, Sedimentology, Geochemistry etc. both at UG as well as PG levels.
