Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalDESCRIPTION
“Borderman: A Love Story” is a story of soldiers- their determination, courage, struggle, and success. The main protagonist of the story is a young man Vijay Singh Rana who revolts against his father. His father, who himself is a military man, desires that his son should join the Indian Army as an officer but the over disciplining attitude of the father and over pampering attitude of the mother towards son makes him arrogant and frustrated. To take revenge for his insult he enrolls in the Border Security Force.
While on duty he saves a Bangladeshi girl Runa Chakraborty from the clutches of Muslim rapist boys. He falls in love with the girl and keeps on meeting her. One day he is caught by the Border Guarding Bangladesh (BGB) and is taken into custody and tortured. The BSF authority also finds him guilty. He is awarded 28 days imprisonment in the BSF custody and posted to a very far-flung area of the border as a measure of punishment. Despite that, he resolves to be an officer in BSF and marry his lady love.
It is an unending saga of struggle, determination, courage, and goal-oriented efforts in odd circumstances. Whether Vijay Singh Rana succeeds in becoming an officer and marrying his lady love Runa, readers have to find in this beautiful and adventurous novel, “BORDERMAN: A Love Story”.
