'Cheap Pencil, Volume-II' is the second installment of Gumlat Ong Maio’s cartoons popularized by his Facebook page 'Once Upon a Time Somewhere'. The cartoons touch upon issues of Arunachal society, hospitals and slice-of-life moments with satirical wit.

Gumlat Ong Maio has written three novels 'Once Upon a Time in College' and its sequels 'Part 2' and 'Part 3', which form the College trilogy. His second novel was selected among the top three books of the month by Notion Press Editors’ Pick, Chennai in 2017. His poems and short stories have been published in online journals like Twist and Twain, The Little Journal of Northeast India, NEWFrontiers Online and The Northeast Today.
He has been honored by the Arunachal Pradesh State Government with the 'Governor’s Young Achievers Award 2018' for literature. He is also a recipient of the Indian Awaz '100 Inspiring Authors of India' award in the same year. He works as a Medical Officer under the Arunachal Pradesh State government. He is a member of North-East Writers’ Forum and Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society.
