Dr. (Mrs.) Rakhi Yadav
Rakhi Yadav is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry, Madras Christian College, Tamil Nadu, India. She has been serving the institute since 2008, integrating teaching and research to meet innovations in science. She has received her Ph.D degree in Chemistry (2005) and was dealing with tribal medicinal plants to explore natural therapeutic agents.
She is a recognised supervisor (University of Madras) who has successfully guided Ph.D candidates through research program. She is actively involved to play a crucial role in overseeing doctoral students’ work as well as supporting students in their academic and personal development. Her research focuses on ‘Green Chemistry’ that involves developing green synthesised nanomaterials for catalysis, biosensing, bioimaging, cancer theranostics and water remediation. She is enriched with high impacted publications with significant citations score and involved in peer review process to maintain the credibility and integrity of published papers contributing to the overall advancement of science and academia.
Her interest lies in strengthening undergraduate and postgraduate students’ research activities and writing skills to make the teaching –learning process visible. She takes an opportunity to adopt innovative teaching pedagogy in context to environmental science education, including pictures review, debates, quizzes, experiential learning and an interactive campus walk to develop pro-environmental attitudes and behaviour among students. These activities would promote them into environmental activists in developing and adopting sustainable technologies for a greener environment. She wishes to spark enthusiasm for learning and help students develop their creative, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills, ultimately encouraging them to embrace sustainable technologies for an unblemished environment.
