Dr. Partha Pratim Kalita, a star student since early years of schooling, hails from Bamundi, a small village in rural Kamrup, situated on the banks of the Brahmaputra. Born to simple pious parents, he pushed his way up the academic ladder through periods of tremendous stress and financial constraints. Endowed with an iron-will, undefeatable perseverance and determination, he shot to fame bagging a coveted state rank (4th) in the 10th board exams. He is an alumni of the prestigious Cotton College from where he completed his 12th standard. An ardent believer in the power of self-study, he managed to crack the pre-medical and subsequently the post-graduation entrance exams without ever setting foot in a coaching institute. He acquired his MBBS degree from Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh followed by MD in Internal Medicine from Gauhati Medical College. He is presently working as a Senior Consultant at Ayursundra Superspeciality Hospital, Garchuk, Guwahati., Assam.
The author has published innumerous papers in various national and international journals; has authored the top-selling medical textbook Decoding Medicine and is presently working on his third book which is also his first non-academic literary work.
