What makes a good manager? Why are we drawn to certain leaders and will follow them without hesitation, but with others we question their motives or have a gut feeling that we can’t trust them? A big factor in that decision: the principles and values they live by. From a lifetime of learning, Paul has developed his 10 Laws for Successful Leadership that demonstrate the values that leaders aspire to uphold and will guide you at work and in your personal life. He provides real-life examples.
Following these laws of management—validated here with real-life examples—will not only create a successful work environment for you and your teams but can even save your life, as Paul discovered when he had to work through a critical airplane failure over a remote area in Northern Ontario.
Hitchhiking Through Management emphasises that a career in management is a journey that must evolve as new technologies and lifestyles present different challenges and needs. As with any good rules, to stand the test of time these 10 laws must have the flexibility to evolve. We step through some of those new challenges, most notable AI, in today’s work world and see how and when the laws are applicable and the adjustments a manager who aspires to leadership needs to make for the current and future workforce.
