Dr. Shyamala is a gynaecologist by training, at present retired from active clinical practice. She now utilizes the new found time, to pursue her writing with energy and commitment. She has a natural flair for languages and is proficient in many. She developed a special love for the English language early in life, having been influenced by her father, who was a lawyer and author of several books.
Her love for books is shared by her husband, Dr. Gopalakrishna.
The trials and tribulations faced by her numerous patients, as perceived during her long years in medical practice gave her an opportunity for close interaction with life in its various hues.
