I am very closely related to the biography of Musnhiji. My home town Gorakhpur and Playground Lucknow is so very common to the life story of Munshi Premchand.
But the Simalirity ended there I believe.
Munshiji was and is an immensely talented yet under-rated story teller.
I have always been awed by the simplistic writing skills of Munshji which never fails to touch our heart and his stories have an uncanny ability to get imbibed in your memory for ever.
Today I feel elated and lucky to be able to present an English translation of some of his short stories in this book for a better reach to the youngsters and nostalgia for the older generation.
