Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalWe are very excited to present this book on organic chemistry which is written for students pursuing B. Pharm Second Semester in most of the universities in India in a simple and most understandable manner. This book incorporates colored structures and images which can be easily mapped in the mind, remembered, and for better understanding. The main agenda is to reach out to all the B. Pharm students to aid their studies in understanding organic chemistry which some students find it difficult to understand. This textbook is prepared according to the topics mentioned in the PCI syllabus to suit the syllabus of most of the universities for the B. Pharm program under the fraternity of pharmacy.
Dr. Sheshagiri Dixit, Dr. H. Yogish Kumar, Dr. B. R. Prashantha Kumar
Dr. Sheshagiri Dixit, Lecturer, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru, the research group is working on Pyrrole and Isatins targeting Enoyl ACP reductase enzyme for the past 5 years. Primarily, focused our research on the development of some novel pyrrole and isatin as anti-TB and anticancer agents which includes computer-aided design, synthesis, analysis, and screening. We have published 61 articles in a peer-reviewed journal. However, academics are my passion, and thought pharmaceutical analysis, Organic chemistry, and Biochemistry to both diploma and graduate students for the past 5 years. I am presently guiding 1 Ph.D. scholar.
Dr. H. Yogish Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru. He is working on the development of anticancer agents targeting tyrosine kinase and serine-threonine kinases. Dr. H Yogish Kumar has 6 years of academic experience and 3 years of industrial experience in an API generic Pharma company. In generic pharma he was engaged in the development and execution of non-infringing synthetic routes of APIs in thrust areas such as anti-infective agents, Anticancer agents, Antidiabetic, etc., He worked on both small molecules and peptides. As an outcome of his research work, He has published 13 research & review articles in peer-reviewed journals and applied for five (5) Indian patents and two (2) international PCT patents (Under examination). He has guided six (6) M. Pharm students, one (1) Ph.D. Scholar (Co-guide) and currently guiding 2 Ph.D. scholars.
Dr. BR Prashantha Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru, the research group is working on Glitazones or thiazolidinediones targeting PPAR-alpha and PPAR-gamma for the past 20 years. Primarily, focused our research on the development of some novel glitazones as insulin sensitizers which includes computer-aided design, synthesis, analysis, and screening. We have published 61 articles in peer-reviewed journals and we have two granted Indian patents. However, academics is my passion and thought organic chemistry, advanced medicinal chemistry, and computer-aided drug design to both graduates and post-graduate students for the past 20 years. My group has identified PTSA as a novel catalyst for the synthesis of 1,4-dihydropyridmidines. I am presently guiding 5 Ph.D. scholars.
