Poems to Warm your Heart A Collection of Sonnets, Poems, Haiku tercets, a Ballad and an Elegy

Author Name: Llewellyn D'silva | Format: Paperback | Genre : Poetry | Other Details

Poems to Warm Your heart is an original collection of 42 poems written by Llewellyn D’Silva, a British Citizen who lives in Scotland.

The author was born in Madras, India, and prides himself in his schooling. Llewelyn says that he was fortunate to have studied in two of the best Anglo-Indian schools which built in him a strong foundation for the English language and contributed to the secret of his success!

He started his primary education at St. Aloysius High School and thereafter continued his studies at St. Mary’s High school under the able leadership of the highly intellectual Irish Principal; Rev. Fr. George Patrick Whyte, a strict disciplinarian.  Llewellyn is still proud of the St. Marys Motto: ‘Viriliter Age – Act like a man.’ He concluded his studies with a Master’s degree from the University of Madras.

His Catholic influence and upbringing is reflected in some of the quatrains of his poems. There is no doubt that the importance given to poetry in both the schools were certainly a big influence and also instrumental in his penchant for versification which led to writing 5 different genres of poetry.

Sonnets, Free Verse Poems, Haiku tercets, a Ballad and an Elegy. Many of the poems were written over the past 25 years and finally put together at the behest of his beloved wife, Lorraine.

The author migrated to the United Kingdom with his family in 2004 and lived in Swansea, South Wales. In 2021 he moved to Scotland to spend his retired life.
