Dr V.B. Shastry (b. 1938) has worked as a teacher in the school and
college systems for over forty years. He is an M.A.(History) First class, an
M.Ed. (Gold-medallist) from Utkal University and holds a ‘Diploma in
Commonwealth & Overseas Educational Administration from
Birmingham University. Dr Shastry has a PhD in the History of Education.
He has served as the Director of the Academic Staff College (Utkal
University), and as a Principal of two Institutes of Advanced Study in
Education. He has successfully supervised fifteen PhDs and one D.Litt. in
Education, two PhDs in Home Science and one PhD in English.
